Custom Website Design

Our Unique Website Design Process

Once you've taken the plunge and made the decision to entrust Designer Websites with your custom website design project, we kick off the website development process with a thorough web design briefing meeting. We'll cover your business and marketing objectives, target market and all aspects of your desired website look and feel, colour, functionality, content keywords and favoured style of writing.

Once you've approved the final design brief, we give it to our graphic designer to create a masterpiece of a homepage, which we send to you as a 'live link' so you can see what it would look like as a 'real' website. Then when you're happy with the homepage, we'll complete the remaining designs and bring in our copywriters to write the text for the main landing pages.

Including copywriting in all our website packages is one of the things that makes us very different to many other web design companies - because to write great copy we really have to understand your business. But it's more than that. We also undertake a detailed keyword analysis to find out what search terms people are using to look for your goods and services online. Our copywriters then insert these keywords in the correct places within the text, while ensuring it still reads well. This is quite a skill, but it's the basis of great SEO.

OK, we put a bit of jargon in there didn't we.  Naughty us.  SEO stands for search engine optimisation - which means making your website visible to Google. The other search engines think they matter, but they really don't. Not at the moment anyway.

When you've approved the designs and the page copy, we hand the whole lot over to our talented website developers to turn it into reality and build the website in one of our Content Management Systems. When that's done, we'll send you a link to the website on our development server so that you can approve it before we make it live to the world.

Please note that our Flexi Starter Package follows a different process - find out more

And After That?

At Designer Websites we pride ourselves on our customer service.  Once we have launched your website we'll give you advice on what to do to keep your website fresh and provide you with ongoing support. By that time we'll also be quite the experts in your business, which we think makes us best place to help you develop an online marketing strategy to promote your website. This often includes a mix of paid online advertising such as Google AdWords and ongoing SEO.
