Does My Website Need a Custom Website Redesign?

July 20, 2017 by kidd

If your website design is older than 3 years, a custom website redesign may be the game changer that you need to attract more leads and grow sales. A well-designed website will typically have a lifespan of 3 to 7 years. However, time is not the main consideration for a custom website redesign. The number one reason is whether or not your visitors are effectively engaging with your business website.

All that said, a redesign does not necessarily mean getting rid of all your branding, imaging, and graphic design elements. Branding is something different and can whether many trend cycles before becoming dated. In fact, a custom website redesign can just focus on user experience and functional modifications that improve website performance and achieve better marketing and sales conversion results. After all, your website is the centerpieces of your marketing, right?

With all that in mind, here are several great reasons for a custom website redesign.

Reasons for a Custom Website Redesign

  1. Poor Traffic and Conversions - Your website may technically look and function great, but if you are not getting the performance you want, it is just wasted internet real estate. Does your site follow a logical and predictable path for visitors, from the point-of-entry to the conversation? Are your calls-to-action effective?

  2. Staying Competitive - Some companies can take a wait-and-see approach to new website trends. That said, how does the competition's website compare to yours? In particular, consumer focused websites will need to stay on top of trends if they want to be considered fresh, up to date, and an industry leader.

  3. Mobile-Friendliness - If your website has not been upgraded to a responsive website design, you have little choice. I must get a custom website redesign. Over 80 percent of internet users will regularly use a smartphone, and 61 percent state it is unlikely they will return to a site if it doesn't work on their device.
  4. Website Does Not Work - You have likely come across a website, every now and then, that just doesn't work and is glitchy. While your website may not be that bad, there may be elements that are not all that effective and are impacting performance. You may not even realize there is a problem. Examples include basic things like poor navigation and hidden content.

  5. Poor Search Rank - Do you find that your website is not ranking well on search engine results pages? SEO trends have moved so far in the last few years, the issue may be the SEO that was built into your website is outdated. Search algorithms are rapidly changing. What worked just a few years ago may not work at all today.
