Formatting your Blog Posts for Better Readability

March 10, 2014 by nayana

Your blog posts are short and relevant to the customer, but you're still not getting the traffic and reader responses that you'd hope for. Why?

Maybe you're not formatting your entries correctly. If you want your blog visitors to understand your writing, then follow these blog design tips:-

Make Your Blog Concise

Your readers are as busy as you are and do not have the time to read through pages of your writing. Keep your entry to between 250 and 300 words long so readers can scan it quickly during their free periods. If you need to use more words for your topic, split your writing up into two or more posts. Be sure that all the parts have links to the other parts.

Break up the Paragraphs

Nobody likes to stare at a solid block of words. It looks intimidating and makes it harder to find the beginning and ends of ideas. Break up your writing into several paragraphs with about three to five sentences each. Add subheaders so readers get a summary of your post.

Include Pictures

Pictures attract the eye and can replace hundreds of words. Add them whenever possible. If you can't take your own shots or afford a professional, source your images from stock photo sites such as iStockPhoto and Shutterstock. Explain what the picture is about in its caption. The most attractive images to a reader are those showing people in clearly defined relationships, such as a mother and child, or a happy couple.
