Simple Website Design for Small Businesses

Feb 8, 2013 by Paul

website design should be unique yet still follow the current trends of the internet. If you have a small business and want your website to stand out among the rest, unleash your creative side while keeping it clean and concise. The following are a few web design tips to get you started on making or revamping your business website.

White Space

Leaving enough white space on your site will draw eyes to your content. Don’t overdo with the colors and animations, leave a blank space for the update or blog section of your site. To go along with this, use muted colors instead of bright neon. This is easier on the eyes and will doubt have more than enough customers returning to your site.

Minimalistic

This goes hand and hand with the amount of white space on your site. A busy site is very overwhelming and you’ll want to avoid this in every way possible. Established websites can no doubt add many widgets, social media icons, and thumbnails because they have been around for years and their customers are there for the service. If you’re just starting out, lay off adding too many outside links and only implement one or two social media links.

Display Feature Products on the First Page

This is a great idea to show off items you’re proud of since people first visiting your site will get a taste of what you sell. If you want to create it more personal, show someone wearing the item so your customers know exactly what they are going to get. Also use social media such as Twitter to tweet new deals and links to your featured products.
